Even small areas with a little bit of primer left would telegraph the problem all the way through the top coat. I never did solve it, but it has something to do with the process of power sanding. I couldn't pin down for sure if it was a sandpaper problem, but I was using the blue Norton 3x, which is stearated.

Great tool for DIY. If you are a DIY person having a go at plasterboarding thennsanding is the worst job but this tool makes the job quicker and easier with considerably less dust. I gave it 5 stars, not because it is the best tool on the market but because it does well what it is designed to do and does so at a reasonable price.

Was advised not to bother with the primer if previous paint was sound. Just keyed it all with 120 and went straight on. Festools sanders and extractors are very well built and designed. Mirka is another alternative if you're looking for the best in quality and design. Bosch and Makita also make some good sanders, but they're a little bigger and heavier. Of course they are a little cheaper. Something to think about is dealer support.

A: Hello Mac, and thank you for your question and interest in Diablo sanding accessories. The 5" 40-Grit 9 Hole sanding disc will fit the Ryobi sander. It will fit any 5" ROS sander, however, the holes for dust extraction may not line up perfectly. We are currently working to add a 40 Grit Diablo with a 12-Hole universal hole pattern.
