The pen rabbit hole developed in stages. I am now noticing that reaching the end of buying pens develops in stages as well. Nib "grinding" by definition makes nibs smaller. Some tips are shaped in such a way that you can get a slightly bigger line by grinding just a bit, but even if your nib were one of those, you'd have to go at it for quite a while using a brown paper bag. You're probably better off posting in the WTT forum and seeing if anyone will trade.

Bring a fountain pen with a wider nib. A nib grinder needs to have something to start with since in most cases the nib will be ground down to another shape. A bent nib fountain pen can create the precise thin lines of an upturned swish or the heavier line of a downward curl.
