Hi Guys, Anyone familiar with a Haas ST 30. Im trying to hand program axially a .25 hex X 1.25 long using the G112 with a 1/2 inch endmill and 3/8 material. with a .010 radius at the points. Re: Haas Vs Doosan. I have not used Doosan Mill but I do have Doosan Lynx lathe and Haas Mini Mill. The biggest problem with Doosan is the memory size, look very closely into that. Haas ships with 1GB of memory standard. Doosan ships with like 512kb and it can only be expanded to something like 2MB at pretty steep cost.

I have been programming on Haas mills for twelve years and have never come across that feature in the manual. I think it would be very useful. What I do is fake it using different tool diameters; for instance, if the actual tool diameter is 0.5 make D0n 0.5, D1n 0.75, D2n 1.0 and program the profile in a subroutine. Turning on a Haas mill. Hi. Some time ago I came across a post where someone was using his Haas mill as a lathe. Material in the spindle/collet and turning tools clamped inside the vise. Sometimes when the lathe is busy I need to quickly turn some parts and I would like to do it on the mill. This guy had a post (fusion360) for it.

Make sure your mill is trammed in properly before attempting any accuracy drilling or boring! Couple of suggestions. -use vee-jaws for a better grip on the part (4points of contact instead of 2) -use a 120 deg spotting drill rather than the center drill.cups the drill point better IMHO and just as rigid

Really pushing it they will run pallet systems with stacks of preloaded parts and a robot to load and unload the pallets from the machine. 100 part runs are just to keep the machine running if you are desperate. 1 part one off is not profitable. 1000 part runs start to make a little money.
