The advantage is that it makes the one piece wash plant a whole lot more portable which saves a lot of money. Moving it around from dig to dig is what helped Parker get so much gold last season. Anything after 6 ft of sluice is adding a few percent more fine gold recovery so it's probably not a huge deal.
